This sounds so simple to me!

While driving in Schenectady, Albany and Troy NY the other day, I was scanning the radio waves, and heard a commentator give the following message. Before I could hear who it was I passed out of channel range and never found out their name.

The more I thought about it the more lucid the spot became, and I share it with you ..... gee I wish I'd thought of it!

"You want to have cheaper gas prices?
Drill for and refine more oil here in ANWAR and elsewhere in the United States.
You want alternative means of energy here in the United States?
Let's get into nuclear energy just like France. Let's build some wind farms. Let's get more involved with solar and thermal energy sources.
You want to stimulate the housing market?
Reduce the interest rate.
You want to stimulate the economy?
Reduce taxes!"

(They might have said "permanently reduce taxes" or "do away with the IRS" but then again that might just be wishful thinking on my part).

Now, it may seem incredibly simplistic for me to believe that this suggestion will work....but then again, just because the "nay-sayers" & environmentalists say it won't work .... doesn't mean it won't work!!

Oh and BTW, regarding oil drilling, the environmentalists are just going to have to understand that for a time, we're going to have to make their concerns secondary while we work our way out of this problem. Bambi, Yogi & Smokey, Peter Rabbit, and all the other furry creatures need to understand that we'll do the best we can to not shake up their habitat - but let's face it, we've gotta move forward. We've been stuck in neutral here since the 60's listening to environmentalists tell us "hands off!" Well, the oil exporting nations haven't taken their hands off the "drill" button, and they are now cleaning our clocks and our bank accounts! Time for all of us to be grown-ups & understand that we can be responsible and still move forward!

> Just STOP with this corn-gas crap that's stupidly ridiculous to refine and would need us all to stop eating corn to get a whole "whopping" 2% reduction in the use of petroleum products! It would be cheaper but just as stupid to catch cow farts!!

> It means for all you anti-nuclear power nutzo's.....just because it's nuclear doesn't mean it'll explode or that we'll all be "glowing." 80% of all Frenchmen are powered by nuclear.

> Teddy and Joe Kennedy are just going to have to understand that a "wind farm" in the Atlantic Ocean off Hyannis Port is going to happen. That goes double for the folks on the Pacific side of things.

> Tapping into thermal heat sources and getting power from the sun should be rewarded, not cost you a million bucks!

> It's time to DISMANTLE the Internal Revenue Service - whose only "service" that I can figure, is taking my money on a regular basis. Can anyone tell me why the IRS needs to employ 115,000 people and has an annual budget of $11 BILLION dollars? Who audits them???!!!

An American Hero....but not someone I can vote for!

This week after his recent primary victory, I've been thinking about John McCain as the potential Republican Party Presidential candidate.

First, let me make one thing perfectly clear......John McCain is an American Hero. For his service to this country during the Vietnam War - for the terror, deprivation, and torture he endured during his 5 years as a Prisoner of War, he should be formally recognized as a national hero, and a living national treasure. Few other men have, or could have endured the suffering he endured in the name of The United States of America.

But John McCain is not a candidate that I can support as the Republican Presidential nominee. Because John McCain is not a Conservative. Here are my reasons in list form.....

• John McCain has no executive experience of any kind. PERIOD. He's been a military pilot, and he's been a Senator. (Personally, I think being a pilot is much more impressive than his being a Senator.) Pilots "do" - Senator's "finagle."

• John McCain and The Keating Five. (See "finagle" above). For those of you too young to remember it, The Keating Five is the Congressional scandal that resulted in the collapse of most of the Savings and Loan Companies during the late 1980's.

• In 2007, John McCain "teamed" with Teddy Kennedy on an Immigration bill. McCain believes in granting some form or amnesty to the 20 million illegal migrants currently in this country. As late as April 2007 he was against building a wall against illegal immigration on our southern border.

• McCain is unsure of his stance on tax-cuts. In 2001 & 2003 he voted against tax cuts - in 2005 he voted for them. On many issues McCain seems to favor the "bigger Government" way of doing things.

• McCain supports the ACLU's push to grant "due process rights" to unlawful enemy combatants!

• McCain led The Gang of 14 - a group of left leaning Republican Senators who sided with Democrats against the Republican majority. This action enabled filibustering to continue, thereby preventing the Republican led Senate and House from approving presidential judicial nominees by majority, and thwarting President Bush.

• McCain leads the opposition against drilling for KNOWN oil reserves in ANWAR and in other parts of the country. You want cheaper gas prices - drill for more oil at home. You want higher gas prices? Side with McCain and oppose greater oil exploration, drilling and oil refining. It's that simple.

• I saved the best for last..... If the most liberal newspaper in the country (the New York Times) endorses John McCain as the Republican nominee, why would any conservative voter support him??? This is analogous to when I was a Staffing Consultant in the pharmaceutical industry and was speaking to a drug discovery executive at a certain drug company about the "talents" of a prominent drug discovery scientist I was considering. After pausing for a few seconds, he said to me, "Ken, the best thing I can say about him, is that he would be exactly the discovery scientist I'd want my toughest competitor to hire!"

Nuf said.

New Year's Blessings.....WOW! Am I different!

For the last few weeks I've been keeping abreast of the national campaign and the general political climate as much as one can while driving, and flipping from one local radio coverage area to another.

Suffice it to say that if I listened only to those organizations conducting "polls" I'd have no idea what's going on! "She's up, she's down! He's ahead, he's behind! He is a behind! I think this guy's dead!" Professional pollsters are perhaps the worst, because dependent upon where their bread is being buttered....(and don't tell me you honestly believe they're unbiased), well, it's like Dad & Mom used to tell us, "Figures lie, and liars figure!" Somebody ought to tell these goof's that if you're doing a "poll-a-day," polling sort of looses its importance, glamour, and efficacy!

Listening to people on the radio it doesn't take long to figure out that there are a large group - many, many millions of folks in fact - who are feeling very blessed these days because they have a presidential candidate to support that refuses to place his hand over his heart, say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing our National Anthem. I have to wonder.....How can you hope to be President of the United States and refuse to understand the absolute significance of NOT saluting the flag, and swearing allegiance to the country you hope to lead??? Or have I just taken a stupid pill? (Somebody help me here, isn't it Islam that makes it a prohibition to swear allegiance to anyone other than Allah?? Just asking!)

There's another very large group of folks - again many millions of people - who feel blessed to support a presidential candidate who's entire background of experience has been structured to "socialize" our government and institutions. This has been her "focus" ever since she and her convicted husband were running the state of Arkansas. In fact, it was even her method of operation whilst she was in college and law school. Socialism - bigger government - fewer individual freedoms. Just what we need - government telling us how to do everything, simply because they have made us into a social welfare state! I really believe that America is ready to elect a woman President....just not this woman.

In fact...you have the ENTIRE Liberal party preaching to everyone - BUT ESPECIALLY TO OUR YOUNG PEOPLE - that government knows how best to run things; that bigger government, establishing more social programs is exactly what this country needs because, let's face it, the people don't know how to best take care of themselves they need government to do it for them! Government will mandate what the teachers union teaches our children and grandchildren. Government will continue to extend its grasp into our medical treatments and our medical coverage's. Doctors will (pretty soon) become so socialized that health care here will become as poor as it is in Europe and (sorry Michael) Cuba! Need to see a physician???? Get in line see you in about 3 months. Want proof? Talk to any of the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who enter the USA annually, and pay for treatment out of pocket rather than wait for treatment in their socialized medicine state.

And then there's the media.....television, newspapers, radio...... who spent WEEKS ..... picking-fly-shit-out-of-pepper concerning the fact that Mitt Romney is a Mormon (AGHAST!!!!!) but would NEVER NEVER ask Sen. Obama about his inculcation in an Islamic Madrassa, or ask Sen. Clinton just one of a thousand truly hard questions about her passed experience/support of our military, our Republic/Democratic form of government, or her efforts to undermine our Constitution, etc.

Finally...last night I saw another Kennedy on television...this time it's Joe Kennedy, offhandedly dissing the United States and aligning himself with the Communist Dictatorship in Venezuela by pushing CITCO Oil products. The "premise" of the commercials are that America forces it's old people and poor people to go cold during the winter while the wonderful people of Venezuela are magnanimously sending us oil, because they care about our old and poor. I don't know what I find more disgusting.....the fact that another Kennedy (a family who has helped BLOCK every attempt at the United States becoming energy self sufficient), is SHILLING for a Communist Dictator; or that there are people in the United States who might actually be gullible enough to think that the Venezuelan people have anything to do with this; or that it's just one more effort during an election year for radical Liberals and Ugo Chavez to band together against Democracy and Conservatism.

BTW - I'm starting a petition looking for internet or actual signators - the petition is written to mandate that the Democrat Party be forced to change it's name forever to the Liberal Party. Cause let's face it when you're being controlled by the likes of George Soros, Babs Streisand, AlGore, Hollywood, and the media - there isn't a dam thing DEMOCRATIC about you.
